| NOTES: | Legend has it that “Rainwater” Madeira was accidentally invented when a barrel of Madeira waiting to be shipped to the American colonies was left outside and rain leaked into the barrel. Rather than dumping out the wine, it was passed off as a new and lighter style of Madeira. This style was met with amazing acclaim, and the rest is history! Warming and just barely sweet, it is reminiscent of dried dates, figs, and roasted hazelnuts. Try as an aperitif with paté, or with desserts like gingerbread cookies, coffee cake, and pecan pie! |
