Pour Wines, a revolution in New York wine stores

Pour, a New York wine and spirits boutique, located on Manhattan’s Upper West Side, specializes in educating consumers on how to pair wines and spirits with food.  The boutique is the brainchild of husband-and-wife team, H. Tres Meyer and Christine L. Beattie, seasoned consumer marketing and brand image building veterans.

Set in an intimate space that includes retail, and a wine tasting and demonstration bar, Pour engages customers from the moment they enter, with beautiful color-coded graphics that serve as a guide to pairing wines correctly with food, as cool sounds play in the background, creating a relaxed and fun wine buying experience.  Each wine has a custom developed note card that provides educational information on the specific wine and recommended detailed food pairing and preparation guidelines.  Each wine also includes a color-coded label on the side of the bottle with the appropriate matching food category so that customers have a handy pairing reference at home.

Pour’s selection is spearheaded by Vanessa Byrd Conlin, Certified Sommelier.  Our small production and boutique wines are specially chosen to represent an international assortment and are kept at approximately 175 handpicked labels to make for an enjoyable, not overwhelming, shopping experience.  Pour’s wines selection are also seasonal.

Award-winning architect and interior designer, Wid Chapman, principal of Wid Chapman Architects, New York City, designed Pour, and Douglas Riccardi, principal of Memo Productions, New York City, created and designed all graphics.
